In 2026, we celebrated a major milestone: 50 years of the Australasian Society of Zoo Keeping, with a special ASZK Conference in Melbourne. Bringing together passionate professionals from across the region, the event was a memorable tribute to our community.

Under the theme “50 Years of Zoos and Zookeepers Thriving,” we honoured the legacy of those who came before us, reflected on how far we’ve come, and explored the future of progressive, collaborative animal care and conservation.
